so... i am NOT going to the MJ concert, after all... the state of the economy as it is, the ticket prices to get there are phenomenally, unreasonably high.i have been to london twice, and it was about 600 cheaper than it is now. i could imagine if i went to look for a ticket closer to when the concert is!!!
there are petitions to get him to tour here, but the last time he did a full-on tour in the states was in 1988, in support of 'bad'... after that, he did two shows in support of HIStory in hawaii. once he was asked if he would ever tour the states again (i think this was in 1995 he was asked) and he said he did not know. even though he is a citizen of this county, he's like, 'ya'll don't respect me here, i'll go make my money some place else!' the only thing is, the states (and the americas in general) are so far removed from all the places he usually tours, so if he is for real about this being his last tour, he better come do it in the states too!!!
as i have been very open about saying, i actually am not in agreement with him doing this tour (i think he should just relax and hang out with his kids and stop being a 'performer'- he should be able to be a citizen of the world and have time to stop and see what's around him); since he is actually doing the tour (who asked me, right?) i would like to go see him. he's been a significant part of my life over the years; and even though i am old enough to have even seen the jacksons i never did. so you know, this is a bit sentimental for me...
i love his accent here...
